Jottings/Bruges: June 2008
If you can get to Bruges before 14 Sept, there's a feast of calligraphy & lettercutting for you to enjoy.
Wor[l]ds festival: A collaboration between South African calligraphers, with Belgian poets & lettercutters lead by Maud Bekaert. The result is a fascinating trail of carved stones set around the city, spreading out to Damme & Zeebrugge.
Manna Gallery: Exhibition of work by Lin Kerr, Heleen de Haas & others involved in the Wor[l]ds project.
Symposion: A unique & special shop full of tasteful calligraphic cards & gifts, with a splendid workspace, gallery & garden behind it. At present showing the original layouts for the Wor[l]ds stones.
I've recently returned from a visit to this beautiful, friendly city and strongly recommend all three exhibitions. I also got the chance to visit Brody Neuenschwander at his home & chat to him about current work.

Part of my recent trip across the Channel included a visit to the Medieval Festival at Provins, where I found a copy of my book in French, with a fetching purple cover!
For those interested, copies are available from Amazon France or Abe Books. The German edition can be ordered from Amazon's German site.
